DISCOVER SOUTH AMERICA II
BRAZIL - ARGENTINA - URUGUAY AND CHILE - 13 Days
Day 1: Sao Paulo- Rio de Janeiro
(Brazil)
Arrival and transfer to the
hotel. Commonly known just as Rio, the city is also nicknamed ¨A Cidade
Maravilhosa¨, or ¨The Marvelous City´. Overnight.
Day 2: Río de Janeiro (Brazil)
Breakfast. Half day tour to
ascend the Corcovado mountain, located inside Floresta da Tijuca. There you
will see the Cristo Redentor Statue (Christ the Redeemer), one of the most
famous local landmarks in addition to the beaches, which has recently been
named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Overnight.
Day 3: Río de Janeiro – Iguazú (Argentina)
Breakfast. transfer to the
airport to take the flight to Cataratas del Iguazú. Arrival, reception and
transfer to the hotel. Cataratas del Iguazú, are waterfalls of the Iguazú
River, located on the border of the Brazilian state of Paraná and the Argentine
province of Misiones. Half day tour to the Brazilian side of Cataratas del
Iguazú. Overnight.
Day 4: Iguazú – Buenos Aires (Argentina)
Breakfast. Full day excursion
to Cataratas del Iguazú on the Argentinean site. The Garganta
del Diablo
(Devil's Throat) is the most
impressive of all the falls, and marks the border between Argentina and Brazil.
On the Brazilian side there is a long walkway along the canyon with an
extension to the lower base of the "Garganta del Diablo". The
Argentinian access is facilitated by the Tren
Ecológico de la Selva (Rainforest Ecological Train), which brings visitors to
different walkways. Optional tour: ¨The Great Adventure¨, navigation on a
zodiac in the Superior Iguazú River to reach the falls. In the afternoon
transfer to the airport to take the flight to Buenos Aires. Arrival, reception
and transfer to the hotel. Overnight.
Day 5: Buenos Aires (Argentina)
Breakfast. Half day city tour through Buenos Aires. You will visit Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosada, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Cabildo. Then you will arrive at La Boca neighbourhood to walk along Caminito Street and see how the first immigrants who arrived in Buenos Aires used to live. In the evening, pick up at the hotel to attend a Tango Dinner Show. (Optional: Dinner at Indian restaurante and Tango Show).Overnight.
Day 6: Buenos Aires – Colonia del Sacramento (Uruguay) – Buenos Aires
Breakfast and transfer to the
port to take the hydrofoil to Colonia del Sacramento. Arrival and walking city
tour through the historic quarter that today is designated a World Heritage
Site by UNESCO. The historical section of Colonia, which has some cobblestone
streets built by the Portuguese in the 17th century, it is a popular tourist
attraction for visitors to walk all around. Lunch at a restaurant. Transfer to
the port to take the hydrofoil back to Buenos Aires. Arrival and transfer to
the hotel. Overnight.
Day 7: Buenos Aires – Bariloche (Argentina)
Breakfast. Transfer to the
airport to take the flight to Bariloche. Arrival and transfer to the hotel.
Rest of the day at leisure. San Carlos de Bariloche, usually known as Bariloche, is a city in the province
of Rio Negro, situated in the foothills of the Andes, sorounded by lakes
(Nahuel Huapi, Gutierrez Lake, Moreno Lake and Mascardi Lake), and mountains
(Tronador, Cerro Catedral, Cerro López). It is famous for skiing but also known
for sight-seeing, water sports, trekking and climbing. Overnight.
Day 8: Bariloche (Argentina)
Breakfast and half day tour
though the city, visiting the most important attractions all around. The
journey starts in Bariloche and borders the Nahuel Huapi lake. Playa Bonita is
located al km. Nº 8. About 10 km. and further on, you come to the base of
Campanario hill. There, you ride a chair lift, which take you to the top (1.050
m.a.s.l.). From there you will be able to admire one of the most beautiful and
fascinating views in this area, You can see the Perito Moreno and Nahuel Huapi
lakes. El Trébol lagoon, San Pedro and Llao-Llao Peninsulas and Victoria
Island. On the margin of the Nahuel Huapi lake you can see Puerto Pañuelo.
Continuing the journey you will cross Angostura Bridge over the Angostura
stream that joins the Moreno and the Nahuel Huapi lakes. After crossing the
bridge over Moreno lake, the road borders El Trébol lagoon. Then, returns to
the city, closing the circuit.
Breakfast and transfer to the
port to start the Lake Crossing from Bariloche to Puerto Montt. Arrival, reception and transfer to the
hotel. Overnight.
Day 10: Puerto Montt – Santiago de Chile (Chile)
Breakfast. Half day excursion
to Frutillar, starting the trip to Puerto Varas, the so- called "City of
Roses" and then, you will visit the beautiful city of Frutillar, its
beaches along the Llanquihue Lake and where you will enjoy the influence of
German immigrants in its architecture and gastronomy. In the afternoon,
transfer to the airport to take the flight to Santiago de Chile. Arrival, and
transfer to the hotel. Overnight.
Day 11: Santiago de Chile (Chile)
Breakfast and half day
panoramic visit of the city. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight.
Day 12: Santiago de Chile (Chile)
Breakfast. Full day tour to
Valparaiso and Viña del Mar. Valparaiso is a major city in Chile, and one of
the most important seaports and cultural centres in the Pacific Southwest
hemispheres. It was built upon dozens of steep hillsides, overlooking the
Pacific Ocean, Valparaiso boasts a labyrinth of streets and cobblestone
alleyways. Nowadays it is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage site and often
considered to be one of Latin America´s most intriguing urban areas. Overniight.
Day 13: Santiago de Chile – Sao Paulo
Breakfast. Transfer to the
airport to take the flight to Sao Paulo.
